Applications are invited for the following position:
Management Accountant
Reporting to: Director of Support Services
Location: Museum & Civic Centre, 11 Antrim Street, Carrickfergus
Hours: 37 per week (flexi-time). Occasional evening work will be necessary
Salary Scale:
Relevant Degree, SO1 (£23,749-£25,320 per annum);
Part qualified, SO2 (£26,067-£27,594 per annum);
Professionally qualified, P01 (£26,835-£28,919 per annum)
Applicants must meet the essential criteria, including:
- Be able to demonstrate a thorough knowledge of local government accounting procedures.
- Demonstrate a working knowledge of the role of the Department of the Environment in local government accounting.
- Have good analytical skills and be able to manage a team of staff.
- Have a high level of computer literacy, with particular skill in spreadsheet design.
- Have a minimum of 2 years experience working in a public sector or local government finance department within the last 5 years, at least 1 year of which was at a senior level (SO1 {or equivalent} or above), or
- Have over 3 years experience in the finance department of a medium sized organisation within the last 5 years, 1 year of which was at a supervisory level.
