Public Consultation on Our Great Outdoors
06 January 2012
A love for our natural environment, special landscapes, secret places, fantastic coastlines and the wildlife that inhabits them, is a strong part of the fabric and value of life in Northern Ireland.
Ensuring that we can continue to enjoy the outdoors sustainably requires planning, development and management.
Sport Northern Ireland in partnership with the Northern Ireland Environment Agency, the Department of Culture Arts and Leisure Inland Waterways Branch and the Northern Ireland Tourist Board have been working to develop a new 10 year Outdoor Recreation Action Plan.
The aim of the plan is to 'To continue to develop, manage and promote a dynamic culture of sustainable outdoor recreation in Northern Ireland.'
A number of regional public consultation workshops have been arranged to help get the views of those interested in outdoor recreation. Or complete the Online Survey.
Each of these workshops will run from 7.00 - 9.30pm.
If you wish to attend one of these events please reserve your place by emailing aidancreamer@sportni.net or Tel 02890 383215.
