The Dogs Trust will in the Borough offering free microchipping for dogs week commencing Monday 26 March

Week commencing Monday 26 March 2012 will see the Dogs Trust returning to the Borough offering dog owners FREE microchipping.

All dog owners in the Borough are encouraged to bring their dogs along to the PDSA PetCheck Vehicle, dates and locations are:

  1. Monday 26 March - Ransevyn Drive Whitehead AM, Windsor Park Whitehead PM
  2. Tuesday 27 March - Glassillan Grove Greenisland AM, Knockleigh Drive Greenisland PM
  3. Wednesday 28 March - Eden Village on the Larne Road AM, Victoria shops the Euro Spar car park PM
  4. Thursday 29 March - Bridewell Drive (Sunnylands Shops) AM, Hawthorn Avenue (Woodburn Shops) PM
  5. Friday 30 March - Windmill Avenue (1 hour if possible) AM, Oakfield Drive (1 hour if possible) AM, Castlemara Drive PM

The PetCheck includes:

  • body condition and weight, teeth and gums,
  • eyes and ears,
  • coat condition, and
  • general fitness.

All advice is FREE. For safety, PDSA asks that only dogs be brought to the PetCheck Vehicle, no other types of pets can be seen.

A microchipping service and flea and worming advice/treatment may also be available but charges will apply.

PDSA is a charitable organisation set up to care for the pets of people in need by providing free veterinary services to their sick and injured animals and promoting responsible pet ownership. Their website (www.pdsa.org.uk) provides useful tools to help people choose the right pet for them, along with heatlh advice for all pets.
