Your favourite Things Exhibition Opens in Carrickfergus
The exhibition The People's Choice: Your Favourite Things features a diverse range of objects from the A new exhibition has opened in the Temporary Gallery in Carrickfergus' Museum and Civic for the winter months. Museum's collection, selected by local people. Participants who took part, were free to choose an object that although made, used and donated by others, evoked a personal memory for them. These memories are now displayed on panels in the Temporary Gallery along with the items themselves. Many of the artefacts reflect facets of life as lived by people in the Carrickfergus area and from the observations of participants show the collection clearly has relevance for local people today. Items on display will include a 1940's radio, a US Rangers uniform, and a hand carved bog oak chair. Why not come along to the Temporary Gallery, see the exhibition and choose your own favourite object from those on display? The People's Choice: Your Favourite Things runs from 4th December 2010- February 2011 and was created by Carrickfergus Borough Council in conjunction with Mid Antrim Museums Services.
