The Sports Development team at Carrickfergus Borough Council prides itself with assisting aspiring sports teams and individuals to meet their goals through various grants for Excellence, New Club, Sports Training, Club Equipment, Sport Events & Sports Coaching. Joel Cathcart from Mossley Hockey Club was awarded a Sport Grant cheque of £50 for ‘Excellence’ for representing the Borough at the Inter provincial hockey tournament in Dublin for Ulster Boy’s Under 16

Darren Haggan from Woodford Fish Fishery was awarded a Sport Grant cheque of £150 for ‘Excellence’ for competing at the International Fly Fishing Tournament in St Austell, Cornwall. |  |
Local lad John Ross Galbraith received a Sports Grant for ‘Sports Training’ for the NI Junior Golf Squad |  |
Claire Webster was awarded a Sport Grant cheque of £80 for ‘Excellence’ for representing Northern Ireland at the European Pool Championship in Rhyl, Wales. |  |
