Sign up for the Sport Relief Mile

Amphitheatre Wellness Centre, Carrickfergus will host the Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 21 March and residents are being urged to sign up for the fundraising event.

Sport Relief is one of the UK’s biggest fundraising events and the Sport Relief Mile is open to anyone regardless of ability or age. Participants Sport Relief logocan choose how far they want to go from one mile, three miles or six miles and the distance can be completed at a walk, jog or run.

Starting at the Amphitheatre Wellness Centre at 10am, the Mile route will take runners through the green space along the Barnfield Sport Complex adjacent to Shaftsbury Park. Participants will need to sign up online before the event where they will automatically be set up with a Sport Relief giving page which can be emailed to friends and family to collect sponsorship.

Sport Relief is a biennial charity event and has been running since 2002. At the heart of the campaign is the Sport Relief Mile. The charity encourages people to get together, get active and raise cash which will be used to change people’s lives both in the UK and overseas.

The event will be open from 9.30am on Sunday 21st March and will close at 2pm.

The first wave of runners will start at 10am from the Barnfield Sports Complex (Synthetic Pitch Cark Park), and there will be entertainment provide for young children and supporters of the event.
