The Civic Amenity Site is located at Sullatober lane off Marshallstown Road in Carrickfergus.

Restrictions

The Civic Amenity Site at Sullatober has a limited capacity for the amount of waste it can take in on a daily basis. As a consequence it has been necessary to place a restriction on vans and large vehicles coming to use the site. Vans with non commercial waste ie houseold waste can use the facility on a Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon between 1400 and 1600. Vans will not be permitted at any other time unless they have previously registered with us, obtained a permit to dispose of their waste and purchased a ticket to do so.

The Civic Amenity Site at Sullatober has recycling facilities for the following materials:

  • Green Waste
  • Cans (food and drink)
  • Rubble and hardcore (domestic only)
  • Glass Bottles
  • Paper
  • Cardboard
  • Textiles
  • Fridge Freezers ** and white goods
  • Scrap Metal (domestic only)
  • Motor Oil
  • Cooking Oil
  • Computers, tv and electrical items
  • Paint / paint tins
  • Fluorescent Tubes
  • Mobile Phones
  • Car Batteries
  • Gas Cylinders
  • Tyres (no rims)

** We can only accept household fridges and freezers

All other waste is taken to the landfill site. It is advisable that residents sort their waste before coming to the site.
