A Freeman of the Borough of Carrickfergus, Charlie Johnston served on Council for 28 consecutive years from 1973 to 2001. Following a break of some 10 years he was returned to Council in May 2011.
Mr Johnston is actively involved in his local community and sits as Chairman of Greenisland Primary School Board of Govenors. He is also Chairman of the Chief Executive's Office Committee in Council.
