Community Support Grants

When applying for a Community Support Grant (large or small), the project must meet at least 1 of the following objectives:

  • Increase participation in community life
  • Promote initiatives which will build capacity within communities
  • Strengthen community organisations in disadvantaged areas
  • Increase the level of volunteering opportunities within communities
  • Target resources in areas of greatest deprivation
  • Promote greater partnership working with statutory agencies

Carrickfergus Community Support Plan 2009 - 2012

The Department for Social Development (DSD) requires each District Council to produce a Community Support Plan for their District.

Following past consultations with various services, Council Officers and local community groups, Carrickfergus Borough Council has produced a Community Support Plan for 2009 - 2012 which is currently under review. Carrickfergus Borough Council will hold a public consultation soon. In the meantime if you would like to express your views, please contact George Gibson, Development Manager (Community) in writing.

The Community Support Grants Programme will open for applications for 2011 - 2012 from 1 - 30 November 2010 (12 noon). Application Form and Guidance Notes are available to download.
