District Policing Partnership
Carrickfergus District Policing Partnership has a series of statutory functions laid down in the Police Act 2000. However, we believe that the core function of this Partnership is to ensure that the people of the Borough receive the Police service that they want and need. To that end, we will consult with and engage with any group or individual who is committed to improving Policing in the Borough, and who will work with the PSNI and this Partnership to achieve that aim.
- We will monitor Police performance on a regular basis and work with the Police to establish meaningful targets for improvement.
- We will compliment the Police when they achieve or exceed these targets
- We will ask why when they do not achieve the agreed Targets
- Above all we will represent the views of the people of the Borough on Policing issues and ensure that these are put forward in a constructive manner to assist the PSNI in their duties
